Kidderminster Town Hall is thrilled to welcome The Bluebird Belles, the UKās premier vintage vocal harmony trio, as they take audiences on a nostalgic musical journey back to wartime Britain.
This unique production, enhanced with original wartime footage from the national archives, begins at the outbreak of the Second World War and guides audiences through the years that followed, culminating in a rousing finale as Victory in Europe is declared.
Audiences can expect to hear the beloved āsongs that won the warā including Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye, Pack Up Your Troubles, and The White Cliffs of Dover. Singing along is highly encouraged ā and with a stirring patriotic finale, flag waving is essential!
With their close harmonies reminiscent of The Andrews Sisters, the Belles will also bring the spirit of swing to Kidderminster with toe-tapping favourites such as Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Donāt Sit Under the Apple Tree, and In the Mood.
Adding further authenticity, the show features a tribute to ENSA (the Entertainments National Service Association), whose wartime performers included George Formby and Dame Vera Lynn. Authentic uniforms and 1940s costumes complete the atmosphere, transporting audiences straight back to the spirit of the Home Front.
During their ten years together, The Bluebird Belles have performed nationwide and overseas at some of the most prestigious vintage events, often in the presence of WW2 veterans. In 2022, they received the Royal seal of approval when they performed in front of the Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh as part of the Channel Islandsā Liberation events.
Donāt miss this chance to step back in time and experience the music, memories, and magic of wartime Britain ā live at Kidderminster Town Hall.
