Contractors, Speller Metcalfe, took possession of our beloved Town Hall on 8th January this year. Works also commenced on this date, including demolition works to create new spaces, piling has been completed to support the new Courtyard roof, creating the new bar and café area. We are now 26 weeks in on the 72 weeks project, with a completion date of 16th May 2025.

Despite recent poor weather conditions, various works have taken place to the Mayor’s Balcony, the mechanical and electric works have started in the attic space, new roofs above the King Charles Room have been insulated and waterproofed, with works also ongoing to the Music Room ceiling.
